Mariam Yahya Ibrahim's mother was Christian and her father was Muslim. After her father left, her mother raised her as a Christian. Sudan doesn't recognize her marriage to a Christian man and, now that she is pregnant, has clear marriage of her "adultery" and "fornication" (since legally she's unmarried). She's also being charged with leaving the Islam faith. She's sentenced to be stoned to death in five days, on the 22nd of May.
