This petition will act as a bulwark against attempts by the Suffolk County DA, Sheriff and Clerk from overturning the Term Limit Referendum of 1993.
If our taxes pay their salaries, benefits and pensions, we should therefore have a right to limit their terms in office.
The failure of the Suffolk County legislature to appeal the decision that overturned the referendum has shown that its members are unwilling to protect the rule of law.
