The US government is involved with many corrupt government around the world. These include places like Ethiopia, where the government has been in power 20 years, is routinely killing people, starving entire villages, rigging elections, etc
Because the US is supporting them, there is little that the people in these countries can do. These people will continue to oppressed and hurt unless the US stops supporting these governments and directs its aid to such things as rural agriculture development, micro-loans, human rights, etc.
