stop taking away occupational licenses and drivers licenses from non custodial parents trying to pay child support.

Created by G.P. on May 16, 2014

I am a non-custodial parent in California meaning I pay child support for my child who lives with his mother. I was unemployed for a year, 6 years ago and the child support continued causing arrears. I have absolutely no problem paying for my child. That's not the issue here. My issue is because of the arrears They have suspended my Drivers license and Occupational License due to arrears. How do they expect people like me to pay for there child support, when they take away the drivers license to get to work and the occupational license to work? It makes no sense to prevent someone who wants to pay for their child, only to take away the means to do so. I suggest to leave there licenses alone so they can get to work, and be able to work in order to pay child support.
