Stop taking away residential custody from mothers and fathers who marry US military and have to relocate

Created by R.A. on May 20, 2013

It is unethical and discriminatory to the children,US military, and to spouses of the US military to remove a child(ren) from the home due to relocation or military move. Children are being court ordered out of homes and away from parents they have been with for years and being put into homes and with other family that they have never been raised by.This is not in the best interest of the children involved. When a parental bond is lost many problems could arise and can be long term. Depression is only one effect from removing a child from a parent. Depression includes a wide range of damaging effects, including loss of interest in things children would normally enjoy, anger or irritability, sleep deprivation, and changes in personality and can stay with a child until adulthood.
