While we agree, that as a country, major fiscal reform is a necessity and feeding the hungry, educating the masses, sheltering the cold, and defending liberty should be our moral priorities, the newly passed "balanced budget" unfairly targets the military. We understand Congressman Ryan and Senator Murray believe that 20 years of work do not beget a possible 40+ years of pension, but perhaps they are neglecting to account for the 24/7 job status of the military, or the extreme sacrifice military members and their families sacrifice in their health, mental strength, family connections, and physical well-being. We feel the government has betrayed the military. At each enlistment the member swears to uphold the ideals of America, but the American government is not upholding its promises.
