US Citizens living in the District of Columbia are taxed by the federal government despite having no true representation in the Congress. This goes against one of the rallying cries of the Revolutionary War and a founding principle of our country, "No Taxation Without Representation."
The federal government is violating the citizens of the District of Columbia's rights under Articles II and XX of the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man by denying District of Columbia citizens an effective opportunity to participate in the Congress. Until such time as this violation ceases, discontinue all federal taxes on residents of the District of Columbia, including income taxes, retroactively to the date of enactment of the District of Columbia Organic Act of 1801.
