The monies received by women for donating their eggs are compensation for the pain and suffering associated with Egg (Oocyte) Donation procedure. The eggs themselves cannot be taxed seeing as it is illegal to sell body parts. Pain and suffering associated with egg donations should not be taxed, just as when pain and suffering compensation isn't taxable when you have an automobile accident.
Unfortunately, this tax provides a disincentive to potentially generous women to donate their eggs- who wish to assist other less fortunate women who are infertile.
