Stop Teaching Toward Tests and Improve Teachers Conditions

America is one of the top powers in the world, but we are falling behind other countries in education. Without a good education how are future generations going to be able to compete with their foreign counterparts on any level. Todays world is one of technology and advancement yet our public schools, which we as Americans are supposed to be able to rely on to teach our children are falling short. A big part of that is teacher requirements, status, and teaching style. We must stop teaching toward tests where students memorize enough to pass with a good enough score and forget what they should have learned. Instead we need to teach hands on and in depth and get the students interested in learning for their future. For this we need better, educated teachers and for that they need better pay.
