stop the telecoms leasing public spectrum from falsely advertising "unlimited" data & restricting how we use that data.

This petition is in reference to the publicly owned "airwaves" or "spectrum" whether reclaimed from broadcast media or originally designated for mobile broadband and is intended to restore the rights of ownership to the public. The telecoms are leasing public airwaves via the FCC & in some cases they are falsely advertising the data plans as unlimited, a practice that would be considered false advertising in any less lobbied industry. Further, we demand that the telecoms with specific allotments within their data plans, be disallowed from intervening in what types of applications can be installed on owned or leased devices and rightly allow consumers to decide how they utilize their data allotment, whether through applications, streaming media content or tethering of other devices.
