The Army National guard requires that every soldier is to attend drill once a month or be counted AWOL. I feel this is a huge waste of money. If the unit is not scheduled to mobilize then I feel it should be placed on inactive status and only required to meet a few times a year. Why waste the money on "training" soldiers that are not going to deploy or have no ambition too.
