Obama is calling for a limited military strike in response to a chemical weapons attack on civilians blamed by the United States on Assad's forces. Here is the main reason why the United States SHOULD NOT strike Syria.
The incident involving the use of chemical weapons in Syria is being employed as a political tool rather than a humanitarian issue. During any war, innocent people (including women and children) die. It doesn't matter whether they were killed by bombs, bullets, or poison gas.... they are still DEAD. Is the use of poison gas any worse than the carpet bombing and napalm used in the Vietnam war, or an atomic bomb dropped on Japan during World War II ? During any war, INNOCENT PEOPLE DIE!
Al-Qaeda supports the rebels. Any attack on Assad can be viewed as support for Al-Qaeda.
