Stop the Traffic Ticket Racket

Created by V.N. on February 20, 2015

Go to any small town in America and see the municipal courts filled to capacity mostly with people holding tickets issued by traffic police.

According to recent statistics, close to 50% of the contact between public and police is due to a traffic stop! That 's implying that 50% of our policing budget is spent on traffic rule enforcement... That doesn't sound like a common sense priority.

So, if it doesn't hold up to common sense, why is it enforced with such zeal? The common sense answer for that seems to be that - because it's a way to raise funds for the government.

Is this the right way to raise funds? Who is paying into this? Again, test it by going to any municipal court and you will find that this is mostly poor man's tax. Please do something about it.
