The US has secretly entered into an agreement with the Sudanese government to train Sudanese security officers under the pretense of fighting terrorism. The National Intelligence and Security Service (the agency the US is training its officers), is responsible for numerous human rights abuses, including murder, torture, illegal detentions and kidnapping. Training these officers in the US will help the National Intelligence and Security Service to continue its human rights abuses and will also strengthen the position of the Sudanese government, which continues to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity against its own civilians.
