Stop TransCanada's Invasion and Illegal Progress on Keystone XL Pipeline

Created by C.D. on March 05, 2012

TransCanada Corporation is currently moving in trucks and materials to begin construction on the Keystone XL Pipleline in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Lakota citizens, elders and leaders have been arrested for their peaceful protests and attempts to block the trucks from coming into their sovereign territory. The federal government has not issued permits for the pipeline's construction, nor has the Tribe consented to it. This constitutes an invasion of sovereign territory and a breach of legally binding treaty requirements with the Lakota Nation, and beginning construction on the pipeline without federal permits is also illegal. President Obama, please stand up with the Lakota Nation against this corporate invasion in defense of all of our lands!
