Tragic things happen when people go crazy, get upset, or get angry. 2012 has been the deadliest year for shootings. But taking away the people's right to own and bear arms will not help solve that problem. If a person is okay with killing innocent people, they will be perfectly at ease with obtaining a firearm illegally. Taking away firearms also keeps people from defending themselves and others. It leaves us defenseless when someone does obtain a weapon, illegal or otherwise. Also, look back through history. In the past guns were not there at all, yet there was still warfare and killing. Hitler and his Nazi armies didn't use guns to murder the Jews because it "wasn't effective enough". They didn't want to "waste the bullets", so they used other awful ways to murder innocent people.
