It is a gross over-reach of authority, and flies against the first amendment rights.

This bill was enacted and passed due to the unsubstantiated claim that saboteurs were able to get in to emails of officials and exposed corrupt practices that may have swayed public opinion. Hurting Whistleblower Protections as it is a reaction towards those that exposed wrong-doing. It then becomes a propaganda tool and slippery slope in to authoritarianism.
