The undersigned, citizens and residents of The United States of America, petition our Congress to stop the unconstitutional use of private prisons to detain immigrants and any citizens.
We like to pride ourselves in believing in human rights in this country. In our Declaration of Independence the founding fathers threw off the tyrannical yoke of the British and their inhuman detention standards. These private institutions violate the due process enshrined in our Constitution.
We demand the end of contracts with private prisons to house immigration detainees.
