The current child support system is set up in such a manner that Non-custodial parents are destined to pay astronomical child support obligations that are forcing them both into debt and out of their children’s lives.
The current child support laws are in some cases doing more harm than good.
The formula used to calculate payments should be fair and reflect both parents incomes.
Non custodial parents debts such as house or rent payments, electricity, and other bills that are a necessity should be taken into account as well.
To base calculations on "gross pay" is unfair.
We need to ,make the guidelines for responsible parents fair.
