This petition is to Obama administration about the delay in processing of Immigrant visa petitions by USCIS and their priority of handling cases due to huge backlog of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) cases.
The DACA cases are people already in the USA and not separated from their loved ones whereas Genuine Immigrant visa petitioners are being punished for doing the immigration process the legal and proper way. There is also the financial impact on these families and US economy.
USCIS needs to hire more staff to relieve the backlog from fees of the deferred action cases. There are currently over 400,000 cases, each paying $435. ($174,000,000).
Obama administration and USCIS should prioritize handling these cases where relatives are separated from US citizens.
