U.S. is the only industrialized country that taxes its citizens on income earned abroad! At the same time, Americans living abroad receive no proper representation in their government, nor reap most of the benefits of their tax contributions. American expats have to pay taxes to the IRS on top of taxes to their country of residence (citizenship-based taxation). While US expats serve as unofficial ambassadors of American culture and capitalism, these policies are making American workers uncompetitive in the global market and force many to surrender their citizenship (resulting in "brain drain" of some of our brightest citizens).
