STOP United Health Care and other Ins. Comp. from REFUSING to pay for BRAND prescript meds that are Medically Neccessary

Created by N.G. on January 31, 2014

Stop United Health Care insurance and other Health Insurance companies from refusing to cover and pay for BRAND name prescription drugs that are Medically Necessary.

Generic drugs are not created equal to the brand. The FDA allows the Generic drugs to contain anywhere from 80% to 115% of the main ingredient.

When you take a brand name for years you cannot just switch because you do not know how the generic drug matches up with the brand. This is especially true for SSRI medications. Reports of agitation and suicidal thoughts when someone switches from brand SSRI to Generic after years of taking the brand name.

Also require the generic drug manufacturers to be exactly like the brand medications.

People should not have to "GUESS" at the strength of their generic medication.
