Chicago has surpassed it's 2011 homicide rate and with 53 days left in the 2012 calendar year, will increase it's total. There are more citizens killed in our major cities than in countries our troops occupy. Most of the victims are unsuspecting innocent victims.
Why can't more be done to prevent this?!
In Chicago, they're employing specialized and undercover policemen to combat what seems an endless epidemic of violence in urban neighborhoods. However, the lawlessness in a few urban communities is now spilling out into low and non-violent crime areas like Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile.
The police, community leaders, and residents are ineffective utilizing the status quo. New plan needed.
