The United States Air Force has a proposed a change to AFI 1-1 regulations 2.11 and 2.12 which currently prohibit those in leadership positions from proselytizing to or forcing participation in religious activities by subordinate airmen. The proposed changes would make a mockery of airmen's civil rights and weaken current regulations, making it easier for those in leadership roles abuse their authority and to discriminate against atheists or display preferential treatment to believers.
Among the things our soldiers fight to protect are our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which include freedom of--or from--religion. The proposed change is likely unconstitutional and infringes upon their most basic and private rights as Americans.
