stop US Soccer from changing youth teams to calendar year ages because it will force many players to quit playing soccer

Created by M.K. on April 12, 2016

I am a 13 year old soccer player in Denver, CO. I have been playing with some of the girls on my team for 8 years, and others for about 3. These years with my teammates have made me grown not only as a player, but as a person, and that should be what matters, not the age we were born.

This fall, US Soccer will implement a rule where every player must be born in the same year. Half my team was born in 2002, and others in 2003. This rule will split up the team I have been with most of my life. This is not only happening to me, but to teams all over the US.

Not only will this law split up teams, but it will force girls out of soccer. Whether it be losing interest without friends or not having enough players for a team, this rule will negatively affect soccer teams and teammates everywhere.
