Stop the USA from purchasing $572M for Russian made helicopters and logistics support for Afghanistan's military

Created by C.S. on June 22, 2013

The United States Government (USG) Department of Defense (DOD) is spending $572 Million to purchase Russian made MI-17 Helicopters and follow on logistics and engineering support for the Afghanistan military. This sale in the era of budget cuts for the USG and upcoming furloughs for DOD employees coupled with the reduced business of our defense aerospace industry is depriving Americans (USG and civilian) from jobs. If we need to provide Afghanistan with this capability, as a minimum, can we at least purchase American made helicopters with American follow on support. This keeps our tax dollars supporting American workers and the American aerospace industry. As a maximum cancel the sale and save our tax dollars.
