Stop the use of acronyms for jargon that are not pronounceable and serve no purpose other than to obfuscate the topic.

Created by G.G. on June 18, 2012

Currently, the government has an obsession with using acronyms for anything and everything it can. This goes in direct conflict plain language initiative already in place with government. A good acronyms should serve as a catchy mnemonic that helps you remember what the described entity is. An acronym for the sake of having an acronym is asinine and hurts the the ability of the people to understand government. It is even worse when the people who make the acronym to represent their topic decide to use the letters out of order or drop letters as they feel necessary. Stop the acronyms! Make things understandable for the rest of us. It may be useful to require interchanging of the acronym and the full text every other usage to make both understandable.
