Pharmacist has a job to provide health care to patient via means of medication and along with appropriate education about the medication and other factors. In the past few years there is trend in the developing pharmacy's with the drive through window to pick up and drop off prescription. Although, it provides convenience to patient of getting their medication but it limits pharmacist's role as a health care provider by not be able to provide appropriate counselling of the medication. According to a study taken by Ohio State University, the drive-through window, overall, poses a huge problem with respect to causing dispensing errors, contributing to communication errors, delaying processing and forcing staff to take more steps. So, drive through window should only be use to drop off.
