Politicians use technicalities and loop holes to keep things away from voters that we want. This is something a dictator would do, not an elected representative. It should be considered domestic terrorism.
Voters in areas such as DC recently voted to approve carrying a firearm, but the Police Chief and co. have put so many restrictions on the process of getting a permit that it might as well be illegal. The motion passed to carry a weapon, so we should be allowed to carry unhindered by miles of red tape. This also happens in other parts of the country.
The same situation has occured in various places in the US on the abortion issue (voted pro choice, so the state applies restriction after restriction to oust abortion clinics).
