Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most cases involved inhalation, while prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death. Recent researches show that the molecule mediates a series of adverse biochemical processes including DNA mutation and protein denaturing.
Yet this molecule is involved in every kind of industry in the US, including food and drug industry. The federal government should set up regulations to strictly ban the use of DHMO.
