Today, an individual may find himself being subjected to a painfully long "administrative processing" while applying for visa, boarding a flight or at the immigration counter, just because of his NAME .
It is not only understandable, but commendable, that the United States takes security of its homeland very seriously. However using NAME as the basis for this process has a lot of problems. First, it leaves the individual terribly inconvenienced and frustrated. Second, because of the high false positive rate, it is a waste of government resources which can be marshaled towards better immigration and border protection measures.
United States is leading the world in the science and technology and it is embarrassing for it to use such a primitive and broken system to secure its borders
