As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama stated, "The basic concept of using medical marijuana... [is] entirely appropriate," and pledged, "I'm not going to be using Justice Department resources to try and circumvent state laws on this issue."
As President, Barack Obama has ignored this campaign pledge, instead using several federal agencies, including Justice, the IRS, Treasury, the DEA, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, to persecute, prosecute, threaten, and bully lawmakers, medical marijuana dispensaries, and even banks who have dispensaries as clients, in order to circumvent the will and the basic natural human rights of the citizens of the states that have medical marijuana laws in place.
Signers of this petition pledge not to vote for Obama in 2012 unless he reverses this.
