Stop Using My Tax Money to Subsidize the Meat and Dairy Industries!

Created by M.C. on January 22, 2014

We do not want our tax money subsidizing the meat and dairy industries. The government spends $38 billion each year to subsidize these industries.

1. Animal food production is the world’s leading cause of climate change.

2. The meat and dairy industries are contributing to health problems (heart disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes). It costs about $314 billion annually to treat the diseases caused by meat and dairy consumption.

3. Through undercover videos, it is clear that many "food" animals are abused and tortured before being killed. Animal abuse is unethical.

As taxpayers, we should have a say in how our tax dollars are used. We should not be supporting industries that are ultimately costing all Americans financially and physically.
