Stop Using Nutraloaf

Created by B.L. on March 05, 2016

Nutraloaf, a food that is used as punishment in United State prisons.

Nutraloaf is a mixture of one nutritional meal, blended together into one loaf, then fed to inmates. With no laws or guidelines, every state is allowed to create its own mixture, "In Pennsylvania state prisons, "food loaf" is made with milk, rice, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, oatmeal, beans and margarine." (The Loaf). Is prison meant to be retributive or is it meant to be rehabilitative? In a society so advanced, it is disappointing to know that we are doing this to people.

Three states have banned this form of punishment (Massachusetts, Minnesota, and New York) the rest of the country should follow in their footsteps.
