Thousands of Egyptians have died since the start of the Revolution, at first the military stood with the people of Egypt against the oppressive Hosni Mubarak, however since the ousting of Mohammed Morsi the military has changed, taking control of the state and systematically killing and torturing their own citizens as well as domestic and foreign journalists, and in January of 2014 alone 49 Egyptian protestors have been killed. They have held corrupt one-sided military trials of any who speak out against their interests. The US sends the Egyptian military nearly 1.3 Billion dollars in foreign aid every year, this coming from directly from American tax dollars, if we truly are the bastion of freedom and civil liberty that we claim to be, we can no longer continue to support these criminals.
