The Guardian reported today on the authorization of blanket surveillance of Verizon phone records by the FBI. This surveillance of U.S. citizens is clearly an abuse of powers and is direct violation of our civil liberties. We petition the government to stop abusing such powers under the guise of security. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
