Everytime there is new gun control legislation (now put forward as "gun safety" legislation, or "gun violence prevention" legislation) we are told that this legislation is "common sense legislation" and needs to pass. This consistent use of the phrase "common sense" is both insulting and politically incorrect, because it inherently implies that any who disagree with the proposed legislation has no common sense. For this reason, we would request that the president cease using the phrase "common sense" whenever discussing gun control measures.
