In reading through the list of petition responses here on 'We the People', a disconcerting pattern repeats over and over and over.
The voting public signs their names to issues they believe are important for the administration to act upon, and the administrative response is... :
(A) condescendingly summarizing the reasons why the public saw fit to petition the white house as the reasons why the white house won't take action.
(B) waving the issue away as not being important.
(C) pointing to token gestures of compliance in the past and offering vague hints that 'this will be a long battle'
(D) all of the above.
This platform should not be for the president to explain why change won't happen or try to boost his PR while doing nothing. It should be a way for us, the people, to effect change.
