Stop using the word "entitlements" to describe social safety net insurance programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Created by T.B. on March 01, 2013

Call for all politicians to stop using the word "entitlements" to describe social safety net insurance programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The word "entitlements" implies the social safety net programs are "gifts," rather than programs fought and paid for by Americans. Politicians should not be able to glibly state they are going to cut "entitlements" but rather have to explain why they are going to cut "social safety net insurance programs" that Americans rely upon.
