When I heard the news of the shooting in Connecticut today, I couldn't believe my ears; 27 dead, 18 children. The only words I could find were 'sickening', 'disgusting', 'unbelievable'. These are truly the only adjectives to describe such a violent action committed against innocent children.
This violence seems to be all too frequent; this tragedy comes after a fatal shooting in Oregon only two days ago. Today, over 900 students at my small town Illinois high school stayed home because of threats of a shooting.
I believe it is plain to see that the Obama administration must re-focus its efforts on domestic policy. Our home ground is falling to pieces, the USA is in critical condition. We must pull together as a nation to restore humanity; we need to stop the hate, before it's too late.
