Stop the War on Drugs!

Created by J.D. on June 20, 2014

In addition to being ineffective in stopping the use of illegal drugs, the War on Drugs has torn families apart, created violence, and caused deaths that would not have happened if drugs had instead been regulated by the government. The drug industry pours money into the pockets of cartels, which do their own enforcement though intimidation and murder. In addition, the drug war disproportionately affects women and minority races, and effectively spends large amounts of government resources on keeping these minorities “in their place” by giving them criminal records and preventing their advancement in the workforce. Drug addicts will use drugs whether they are illegal or not, and the government should be helping these people instead of taking them away their families and criminalizing them.
