Stop the wasteful and ineffective War on Drugs.

Created by D.R. on May 14, 2012

We are wasting countless valuable resources trying to enforce ineffective laws outlawing the unhealthy practice of using drugs by making drugs illegal and jailing drug users and sellers. This type of ban was tried in the past with alcohol and resulted in a similar unwinable conflict with deadly and devastating results for almost everyone on every level of society. Rather we should focus our health policy on education and treatment for addiction, while still outlawing dangerous activities committed by people under the influence and sales to minors, as we do with alcohol. By targeting that which we have the ability to control, we can prohibit activities that endanger the public, tax and raise revenues on production and sale of drugs, while saving millions of dollars and thousands of lives.
