My petition to establish a balanced budget amendment is a common sense way for the United Staes to address our fiscal issues. The debt ceiling was put in place to protect tax payers from the federal government spending our country into bankrupcy. Balance the budget, pay down the debt and make our economy strong. How can congress ask anyone, including the rich to pay more taxes when our tax dollars are squandered and spent irresponsibly by corrupt politicians.
