Please stop wasting money making new pennies, there are plenty and they cost 1.8 cents to make each. Many other more sensible countries have done away with the penny and have have seen no ill effects as a result. Pennies are no longer accepted on military bases or in vending machines, and they can not buy anything individually. This waste seems like an easy and obvious place to save money, the half cent was discontinued in 1857 and many people never knew it existed.
