This information is then being sold to the public, including employers, neighbors and friends, perpetuating hardships for people who have served their punishment or deserved none to begin with.
For additional fees, these websites can further extort money from the accused to have their information taken down.
We ask that action be taken to remove fees for those who have been wrongly charged in order to clear their reputation, and that public records be available for the good of the community, not the profit of vigilantes and extortionists like GotchaMugshot.com, mugshots.com, whosarrested.com and Bustedmugshots.com
