We petition the United States government to stop working with and giving aid to the new Palestinian unity government which includes Hamas. Hamas is designated by the United States government as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), a specially designated terrorist (SDT) and a specially designated global terrorist (SDGT). U.S. laws prohibit assistance to terrorist organizations. According to the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2012 (PL 112-74),7035-7040, "no aid is permitted for a power-sharing Palestinian Authority government that includes Hamas as a member, or that results from an agreement with Hamas." The Palestinian Anti-Terror Act (PATA) of 2006 PL 109-446 demands recognition of the Jewish state of Israel's right to exist. Hamas' charter, however, calls for its destruction.
