Stop to the yearly madness of switching from standard to daylight saving time.

Created by J.S. on March 06, 2015

-The yearly switch from standard to daylight saving time in the spring and back to standard time again in the fall is a horrible disruption to our circadian rhythms.

The incidence of heart attacks increases for three weeks every spring with the change to daylight saving time. Every parent, every school child, and everyone who works is stressed by the change of time in the spring. Why are we doing this to ourselves?

Even if there is an additional hour of daylight in the evening, that hour is taken from the morning. So reduced traffic accidents in the evening hours is pretty much cancelled out by increased accidents in the darker morning hours.

There is no energy savings, there is no reason for this twice yearly disruption, other than it has been done nationally since 1918.
