It is time that petitions are answered as soon as the proper threshold for unique signatures is reached.
We believe that the White House Petition website is a reasonable and progressive idea that could greatly assist the struggling relationship between government and its citizens at this crucial point in the 21st century. Beyond the criticisms, whether one agrees with them or not, the website has at least given us some insight, for better or worse, into the thinking behind our policies and actions in government.
Instead of an endless ticker of signatures for a petition that has surpassed the necessary 25,000 votes the White House should close the petition early and answer it in a prompt and sufficient manner.
