When discharged from active duty many veterans left with the belief that their military training and experiences/ sacrifices would allow them to find good employment and a stable future. As a disabled veteran I have found many of the "We support veterans" ads and slogans to be a sham when it comes to looking for secure employment. Furthermore the challenges for veterans with a disability rating to get this acknowledged, and to get into any sort of stable job with benefits through the government is difficult to the point many veterans give up on the opportunity after many months and repeated attempts to submit paper claims for preference. To truly "support our veterans" we need to streamline this as veterans with disability awards from the VA shouldn't have to wait half a year for help.
