The IRS website gave me a very generic message not even saying with certainty that there was an issue with my refund. After taking the initiative to call it is determined that I had to do ID VERIFY which takes up to 9 weeks extra to receive your return. All of this because of fraud. It is one thing to check our identity but to have to wait an extra 9 weeks to working families who count on that to pay off debt and or just make ends meet is ludicrous.
It is necessary to streamline this process and not punish responsible tax payers.
